Ah ah, social networks now. Well in a way, this blog is part of a social network, that of the bloggers' community.
As for me, I mainly use MSN Messenger and Facebook, they're really great if you want to keep in touch with your friends without calling or texting them all the time.
Also, it's a free way to talk to them wherever they are: USA, Africa, Europe, Asia etc, it doesn't really matter where you are or what time it is. As long as two people are on their sides of their computers, even separated by thousands of miles, they can share and communicate.
Why do you use facebook?

Crowdsourcing
To prove the efficiency of my previous scientific demonstration (i.e. Internet IS generous), today's entry about crowdsourcing is all about sharing:
(thank you Youtube!)
Ok, I admit this is not the most exciting video ever, so i'll just explain in a few words what outsourcing really is:
Crowdsourcing is a neologism for the act of taking a job traditionally performed by an employee or contractor, and outsourcing it to an undefined, generally large group of people, in the form of an open call. For example, the public may be invited to develop a new technology, carry out a design task, refine an algorithm or help analyze large amounts of data.

Why Internet is so generous...
Because anytime you try and find some information, whether for classwork or for your own personal interests, all you have to do is take your keyboard and write up everything that comes up in your head. Ta-dah, click and browse!
Of course all websites don't just hand you free applications, texts or videos. Some of them do though: wikipedia, radioblog, imdb, youtube or, one of my favourites, the great CouchSurfing website. When I think of weeks/months/years to come and possible holiday-planning, I like to have a look in there. The idea is very simple: log in, invite people to come over and sleep on your couch, be nice and welcoming and then wherever you want to go, whatever country you feel like seeing, you'll find some kind couchsurfer who will give you full - and free - access to their home!
